Julie Dohaney Appointed Interim Secretary

The position of secretary was left unfilled after the 2020 election. Per club bylaws, when a volunteer contacted us in January 2021, she filled the seat with Board approval. The FPC Officers and Board are excited to announce that we have appointed Julie Dohaney as Interim Secretary for Foothills Paddling Club.

Growing up around Chattanooga, Julie has been finding her way down rivers for most of her life. It wasn’t until her now husband introduced her to FPC in 2016 that her love for paddling really took off. She paddles an “Ugly Duckie” inflatable, as she has a crazy neoprene allergy, but she is so happy to have a boat that can handle any river she can. In her words, “The FPC embraced me from the first time I met everyone, proving that although those other boats are fun, everyone can have fun on the river.”

Julie will be an invaluable addition, helping to keep the officers and board organized and all of our meetings properly documented. She will also help to ensure that membership questions and concerns are being addressed in a more timely manner. In addition to her duties as Secretary, Julie also serves on the Events and Communications Committees and is now an Admin in our Discord server.
