It is tradition for Foothills Paddlers to take a day in the Summer to pause our busy lives and paddling frenzy to dedicate a day of club camaraderie. This happens at our Summer Social.
Our club is based in Greenville, SC, so we like to help highlight a hidden gem of a river in the Upstate as well as its local businesses. We are going to come together on Saturday June 11th at the Saluda Outdoor Center. We will start the day at 10:30am at the SOC chatting with friends, both old and new, about what adventures might lie ahead for the day.
SWR & WFA skills refresher practice
Intro to Whitewater SUP Clinic with SUPState (register here - general whitewater paddling experience preferred, SUP experience preferred)
Flatwater Paddle on Saluda Lake (SUP/Kayak/Canoe)
Tubing: SOC will provide us a group code and time for those that want to tube.
Whitewater Kayaking (Class I-I+) on the Saluda River from the Dam to Dolly Cooper
All trips can take a garbage back to help with a River/Lake Clean-Up
After a day of fun on the Saluda we will come back together for a cookout at the Saluda Outdoor Center. FPC will provide hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill, please bring a side dish or dessert for a family-style potluck style together. BYOB, all beverages must be in cans (no glass) and in a cooler.
The Details:
Parking: There is now no parking on-site due to the brewery. Guests would need to park a half mile down the road and take a shuttle to the brewery/take out/gathering area. They will run shuttles for us until 7:00/7:30 and then we can likely move cars over.
Food and Beverage: We will do our traditional grilling out of hot dogs and hamburgers with potluck sides & desserts. We encourage you to patronize the Brewery if you would like an alcoholic beverage.
