Chattooga Spring Sweep
All are welcome to join the Andrew Pickens Ranger District on April 5th for a trash pick-up event around the Chattooga River, Chauga River, and other locations around the district.

Tallulah Release Volunteering
Twice a year (April & Nov) water thunders through the gorge as kayakers challenge their skills & spectators watch from the rim. This weekend cannot happen without the support of volunteers to help manage traffic and ensure the safety of boaters and spectators alike.

Spring Tune-Up
Has it been awhile since you've been in your boat? This Spring Tune-Up weekend will help to knock off the dust and get you ready for the 2025 boating season.
This class will cover river reading and running skills in a fun Class 2 environment.
Prerequisites: You have completed the 2024 Foundations Class OR you are comfortable on class 2/3 whitewater.
Cost: $150 for the weekend or $75/day.

Chattooga Fest 2025
Foothills Paddling Club’s largest paddling event of the year! The first weekend in May, our members from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia all come together at the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River for a time of paddling and camaraderie.

The Foothills Paddling Club (FPC) Board of Directors meets quarterly to oversee club operations, support member involvement, and uphold the club's mission. Active members are encouraged to attend and engage in discussions.

FK201: Intermediate Fundamentals
Formally known as “Step Up to Class III,“ This skills-focused clinic is designed to help you learn how to work a river to confidently progress into intermediate venues.

East Tennessee Pilgrimage
Foothills Paddling Club travels outside the Carolinas for one weekend a year, and we call it our annual Pilgrimage.

Common Sense Rescue Course with H2O Dreams
The H20 Dreams Common Sense Rescue class will put you through the paces of not only fundamental rescue and safety skills, but how to prevent these scenarios from popping up while on the river.



Foundations Refinement Clinic - FR106
This clinic is intended to be a refinement, or “tune up,” clinic covering basic whitewater skills, and will be offered free of charge to FPC members.


Foundations Core Graduation Trip
This is the graduation trip for those who have completed the Foundation Core program. We encourage all FPC members with a class II+ skill level, to attend this trip to celebrate the accomplishments of the Foundations Core students.

FK106: Core Capstone
In the final clinic of the Foundations Core program, we will review all the content we have covered in the program and refine the skills we have learned.

FK105: Intro to Whitewater
In his clinic, you will practice water-reading, hazard identification, feature identification, proper paddle strokes, eddies, ferries, rolling (if desired), and surfing.

River Kayak Hand Paddling Clinic
This clinic is a part of our Green River Day and Summer Social! Come spend a day on the river learning how to navigate class 2 whitewater effectively with hand-paddles.

Our annual Summer Social is back! Enjoy day on the Green River followed by the social event of the year at the beautiful Twin Lakes land trust!


FK103: Moving Water
This clinic is taught on flat moving water (class 1 river). The focus will be to work on dialing in the essential maneuvers

FK102: Essential Maneuvers
The focus of this clinic will be to ensure that you can perform the following essential maneuvers: entering and exiting your boat, wet exit, self-rescue, forward stroke, back stroke, sweep stroke.

We will be having our first official river day on the Nantahala during NOC’s spring fling weekend.
