Our traditional Hair of the Dog paddle is back again this year. This year will be a little different from year’s past, since there are no scheduled recreational Saturday releases on our traditional run for this event, the Lower Green. Because of this, we have made the decision to move the Hair of the Dog paddle to the Chattooga. We will be running a short casual stretch of Section 3, from Earl’s Ford to Sandy Bottom.
Please note that this run is a little more technical than the Lower Green as some of the Rapids are Class III. Dick's Creek can be walked fairly easily and Rooster Tail has a sneak. There is one just before Sandy that does not have a name that may be tricky for newer boaters. Safety is paramount for FPC so if you have any questions about your readiness for this run, please feel free to contact us.
We ask that you register for this event for this event through your membership portal under “Upcoming Events” so that we have an idea of how many to expect. You will need to be club member to register but please feel free to bring a guest!
**Because of the cold temperatures, we do require that participants have cold weather and/or dry gear.
**Boats and gear for guests must be furnished by the member(s) who registered them.
**Class II whitewater experience is required; some class III experience is recommended.
