Wilderness First Aid is a full day training course that focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment for an ill or injured person in a remote environment. It is a great certificate to obtain for people who participate in kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoors adventure activities.
The course is typically a 2-day structure, but FPC opted to utilize the new virtual coursework option to replace Day 1 of the course. After registration, and within 2 weeks prior to the in-person portion, you will receive an email with information regarding the virtual coursework. It is 8-10 hours worth of course information and assessments, so you need to plan out yourself to ensure completion prior to the March 20th in-person date.
At the end of the WFA clinic, participants will have the opportunity to obtain CPR certification as an add-on. This costs $35 additional and you must register for it at the time of the WFA registration.
*Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, and lie down without assistance.
