New PFD Labels

If you are in the market for a new PFD, you may soon notice a new label on the inside. This new label is designed to better convey the recommended use and “performance level” of the PFD.

This new label does not make PFDs with the old label obsolete and according to the US Coast Gaurd, “Wearable PFDs are categorized by performance Type and/or performance Level.” So at this point, it appears that only the labels are being updated and the existing USCG Types are sticking around.
